During the trip, you can stop and visit a Maasai village, among those authorized by the Government of Ngorongoro, to closely get to know this extraordinary population, their traditions and customs.

Entering the Serengeti Park in Tanzania, in the early afternoon, you will go on your first Game Drive Safari (research activities and animal watching while on the Jeep) in search of Africa’s famous "Big Five" (the traditionally so-called 5 animals that could not be missed in a big game safari and cannot be missed today in a photo safari: elephants, rhinos, buffalos, lions and leopards) during their daily life.
You will also see many other animals including cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, gazelles, gnus, hippos, crocodiles, warthogs, antelopes, impalas, jackals, hyenas and various species of birds.
You are expected to arrive at the Tented Camp inside the Park in the late afternoon. This exceptional feature will allow you to enjoy the company of the animals that move all around the Camp (always in complete safety, thanks to the skilled and experienced Maasai’s constant control over the surrounding area), to go on a Game Drive Safari until late afternoon (in addition to the normal closure of the Park, scheduled for 06:00 p.m.), enjoy an exceptional sunset, go on a Game Drive Safari in the very early morning (possibly with a breakfast box).

Now, really, you too will be part of true Africa, wild and majestic.
INCLUDED Experience: it’s also possible for you to wake up very early in the morning to go on a first Game Drive Safari at dawn, so you can admire the fantastic colors of the savannah at the Sun’s first rays and watch the animals coming back from hunting.

During the trip, if you wish to, you can stop and visit Olduvai Gorge, also called "the cradle of mankind", where the history of mankind is said to have begun.
Accompanied by a local guide, you will have the opportunity to descent into the valley and visit the place where some remains of hominids (Australopithecus Boisei and Homo Habilis) were found by Mary Leakey in 1959. The walk takes about 20 minutes. Comfortable shoes are recommended.
In a 20-minute car ride, you can reach the place where a volcanic ash dune can be found (also called "dust"), named Shifting Sand Dune .
The arrival at the Lodge is foreseen for the evening. Dinner and overnight stay at the RHINO LODGE or similar (1 night, full board).
Journey duration (approximate) NGORONGORO CRATER - ARUSHA AIRPORT (ARK) / KILIMANJARO AIRPORT (JRO): 4/5 hours
A wake-up call at dawn heralds the start of a final, unforgettable Game Drive Safari.
After a good breakfast, you will leave for the Ngorongoro Crater.
From a height of 2.286 meters, you will drive down to 1.600 meters for an altitude difference of 610 meters, until you reach the bottom of the caldera of what was once an active volcano which now covers an area of about 304 square kilometers with a diameter of about 19 km.
The Ngorongoro Crater is considered one of the wonders of the world. Soon after his visit, Professor Bernard Grzimek wrote: "There is nothing that can compare with it, it is one of the most extraordinary wonders of the world". Over 30.000 animals live here permanently, and it is one of the few places in the whole of Africa where you can meet all of the "Big Five", together with ostriches, hippos, hyenas, warthogs, flamingos and zebras. The only one missing is the giraffe.
Picnic lunch box on the shores of Lake Magadi.
OPTIONAL experience (at an approximate cost of USD 30 per adult, to be arranged with the guide): visit of the local village Mto wa Mbu.
During the trip, you can stop and visit the peculiar village of Mto Wa Mbu, accompanied by Andrew, one of our local collaborators (who speaks good English). During the walk which takes about 2 hours, you will get to know the local people’s life. For example, you will visit a rice plantation, a small "local" brewery, a large banana plantation (essential and fundamental in daily life both for food and trade) and the local market.
At the agreed upon time, you will head off to the airport where you will take your intercontinental return flight or domestic flight if your journey continues (e.g. to the seaside).
PLEASE NOTE: considering that, to arrive at Arusha (ARK) / Kilimanjaro (JRO) airport it takes about 4/5 hours, the flight must necessarily leave after 05:30 p.m. For those who decide to continue the trip, for example, with a stay in Zanzibar Tanzania, there is a comfortable domestic flight with the national airline Air Tanzania which leaves at 07:40 p.m. (1-hour flight time).
If you wish, during the transfer towards the airport, you can stop at some local markets or shop to pick up some souvenirs of this fantastic trip.
It's time to say goodbye. Your guide will give you one last souvenir: a small Pangolin, carved from a piece of Ebony, which symbolizes luck and prosperity in Maasai tradition.
Then a last hug, and the hope that this trip to Tanzania has left new emotions in your hearts and that pinch of "nostalgia for Africa" that, only then, you will truly understand.
